Emotionally exhausted...the ranting begins....

the babble...

It has been a couple of weeks
of emotional stress.
So, all I can manage is the random thoughts
that have been running through my mind....

-Why do parents use their children to inflict revenge on their "ex"?
-Why would a family of four think that a metal trivet is an appropriate gift for a couple,
who is paying for a wedding and a reception at a country club?
-Who asks their "ex" to dance, while their current spouse is standing right next to them?
-Why do the people that do most of the work rarely get any thanks? or even acknowledgement?
-What is the point of making a wedding the battlefield of your unresolved issues?

Do people ever
grow up?

On the other hand,
I am so proud
to know professionals
who do their job well......really, very well.
People that unselfishly go beyond what they are paid to do.
The flowers were stunning,
The photographers were patient, and extremely professional.
The minister, co-ordinators and the organist were incredible.
The event manager, wait-staff and DJ's, at the club,  all did their job
in a timely and smooth way.
Afterward, the wait-staff helped to load the flowers into my car,
so that they could be donated to an "Adult Daycare".
They even helped load the gifts.

I am so grateful for the people I know and love that are
genuine, kind, generous and loving.
They are the people that went out of their way this week
to help me stay sane.
They brought me gardenias for my home.
They called to make sure I was not frantic.
They waited patiently for me to return calls.
This is real friendship!
I am blessed.

  1. Whew, you're done - that's the main thing. :-)
I have no idea why bad behavior always rears it's ugly head during weddings, but it seems to be pretty common. On the other hand, you had people doing their job and looking out for you - that's priceless. The tables were really beautiful and so was the bride and groom. Congrats!

  2. The centerpieces were gorgeous. Congrats!

  3. Your photos of the wedding are wonderful and it looks like a good time was had by all!!

Just be sure you don't let the few seconds of idiots spoil the whole picture.

I don't claim to know everything, but I have come to some basic conclusions about people over the years:
Most people never do grow up. Period. They are not happy or secure so they 'act out'--much as a child does when confused.
The rest of us have to overlook them and not let their actions overshadow our lives.

At the end of the day, those folks will go away and we will still have our beautiful memories!

  4. Thank you ALL! I am so much more relaxed and happy this weekend....you are all right, most never grow up, but that doesn't mean the rest of us have to suffer.....thanks for letting me rant!...smiles.

  5. Weddings make all sorts of people stupid. That 'ex' thing? All to common an occurrence. The trivet thing? Don't even get me started! The cost per meal at receptions is ever climbing.......trivet? OY!

  6. Thank you all for sympathizing with me....smiles.

  7. Great rant. Enjoyed every syllable. Adore laughing at that stuff.

Especially with girlfriends in my Conservatory over lunch or wine/canapes in the evening.

Would love to see you mimic some of 'those' people. It's said Jackie Kennedy was a good mimic.

When someone is mean/rude/childish it's nice to tell them it takes more intellect to be happy.

Garden & Be Well, XO Tara

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment...I am grateful....smiles.
