My jeans purse.....

Well, that's actually a misnomer....
these were never my jeans, they are smaller than I was when born...
But they belong to me, and I made the purse...you could too,
it was easy.
First, let me say this...
I am not your fanatical crafter, I admire them
but have little time to devote to any
one hobby and my camera flirts with me so there goes....
1. I went to Goodwill .
browsed the children's section, and bought 2 small jeans, one
smaller than the other (slightly).
2. Then I perused the purse section in search of handles that I liked.
3. $6.98 later, I went home to start the assembly.
4. Take the smaller of the 2 jeans, turn them inside out,
and put inside of the larger pair, cut them to "shorts-wearin' length".
5. Sew up the legs of the smaller/inside pair, securely, as this seam
will hold all your stuff in.....
6. Ravel the cut ends of the larger/outside pair so that they remind you of
jeans you used to fit into....(sniff).
7. Take 4 belt loops off the smaller/inside pair
for use in securing your handles to the purse.
8. Put the smaller pair back inside the larger, pin the
belt loops/handle loops where you
want them to hold the handle in place,
and then start sewing the whole thing along
the top waistband
(match the gold jean thread as close as possible).
I used some of the left over leg material for the makeup case.
The jeans on the inside will provide lots of pockets for your
stuff and if you are lucky,
and find a small pair of "carpenter's pants"
to use.....
you will also have a hammer loop to hold your hair brush (sweet!)
When I was in Cincinnati last weekend, I received many compliments on this
purse....even one from a handsome man that passed me in a hotel restaurant,
go figure...

My life is good today...

I have lots to be thankful for....
not the least is a place to live that is safe,
sound, clean (relatively so....), and
peaceful.
not that I mind a little fun...
but there are times that we must sit back and
laugh at the universe and her jokes on us....
As seen here where a man had to think quickly
as the ultimate insult was thrust upon him.
Smiles!

Are we anonymouse?......

I know....
a weird play on words....
But it begs the question..
Are we mice or women?
Do you share your blog with your family?
I was "surfing" and found the question via
Andrea at
I have shared with my son, and one friend that lives out of state.
and my husband, who probably doesn't ever look at it.
My life is an open book to these three.
Sometimes I use this as a safe spot to vent feelings.
Usually my feelings are pretty apparent, anyway,
but occasionally, I just want to let it all hang out.
Not everyone can handle my venting.
My son is an old soul, and has wisdom beyond his years...
he blogs too.....
My friend probably doesn't have the time to read me much.
She is "Uber-busy".
Is it cowardly to keep these blogs from our family?
I don't think so....
Everyone needs a place to be completely themselves, without
fear of recriminations..
I find sharing with those who only know me here
to be very freeing.
Thank you.

Good Karma.....

This is Heather and Sandy....
Cute couple, huh?
Sandy is battling complications from surgery...
Heather has been by his side almost constantly....
I wish I could help.
So....
here it is.
I believe in Good Karma, Positive Thoughts,
Positive Energy.....
If you have just 30 seconds...
could you please look at this photo,
see the joy...
and think to yourself
"This happiness will continue"
That's all.
I believe that the universe responds in kind.
Good thoughts create good outcomes,
what ever they might be......
The feeling that we are powerless,
might be an illusion....
we might have extraordinary power in
our thoughts...
Thank you.

Father....

I am so grateful for my father....
His guidance....
his honesty...
his trust...
his love...
I now realize how lucky I truly am...
Today I am having him over for dinner...
along with assorted family from both sides,
but it is he that I am the most grateful for.
Happy Father's Day!
