New Hair.....

Yep, new hair.....
Brown, shorter, cooler.....
New outlook to go with....
Not willing to become stuck.
Not willing to blame....
or accept blame...
Growth never seems to let up on it's insistent
rapping....rapping on the door....
The universe appears to see me as much more
"centered" than I can intellectually accept....
I have been blessed with.....
good friends.....
a safe place to live....
faith......
calm......
Thank you....

Trust....

Well, I am at a loss....
trust broken...
numb with pain....
confusion, too familiar....
why.
My expectations must be too high....
I've been told that my standards are too....
what do I do with that?
Where is the lesson in this?
How do I process?
Is there a reason to set lower standards?
Is there proof that lower expectations will bring peace?
Today I am just confused....
I think I will go open a box of L'oreal #6 and
bring the roots back to something I recognise.....
F%#&!

West Virginia....yep almost heaven.

We went to WV for the holiday weekend.
Family Reunion......
It was beautiful....
Family....
Food.....
Friends.....
Finding out about common traits...
Faring fairly well on the winding roads....
Photographic opportunities abundant.
Big smiles.

This photo is from the Official White House Flickr site.
It reminded me.....
how lonely that job must be....
how glad I am to be me....
and how fortunate we all are to have someone.....
willing to give up their life, of privacy....
and even happiness.....
and health...
for us.....
I will remind you....
I didn't vote for him....
but he is my president....
I will stand behind him...
and support him...
because I am an American.
Period.

Basil!!! love the smell, as well as the taste!!

Home grown roses!!!
I would have to say the summer,
even the hot, humid days are my absolute
favorite time of the year.
I am off to a family reunion this weekend,
to meet people that I have never met before....
excited, a little nervous, and oh so glad for a
break!
Hope your weekend is FUN!!

Life is too short, not to laugh......

I just love insanity at times.....

Be prepared to LAUGH!

My jeans purse.....

Well, that's actually a misnomer....
these were never my jeans, they are smaller than I was when born...
But they belong to me, and I made the purse...you could too,
it was easy.
First, let me say this...
I am not your fanatical crafter, I admire them
but have little time to devote to any
one hobby and my camera flirts with me so there goes....
1. I went to Goodwill .
browsed the children's section, and bought 2 small jeans, one
smaller than the other (slightly).
2. Then I perused the purse section in search of handles that I liked.
3. $6.98 later, I went home to start the assembly.
4. Take the smaller of the 2 jeans, turn them inside out,
and put inside of the larger pair, cut them to "shorts-wearin' length".
5. Sew up the legs of the smaller/inside pair, securely, as this seam
will hold all your stuff in.....
6. Ravel the cut ends of the larger/outside pair so that they remind you of
jeans you used to fit into....(sniff).
7. Take 4 belt loops off the smaller/inside pair
for use in securing your handles to the purse.
8. Put the smaller pair back inside the larger, pin the
belt loops/handle loops where you
want them to hold the handle in place,
and then start sewing the whole thing along
the top waistband
(match the gold jean thread as close as possible).
I used some of the left over leg material for the makeup case.
The jeans on the inside will provide lots of pockets for your
stuff and if you are lucky,
and find a small pair of "carpenter's pants"
to use.....
you will also have a hammer loop to hold your hair brush (sweet!)
When I was in Cincinnati last weekend, I received many compliments on this
purse....even one from a handsome man that passed me in a hotel restaurant,
go figure...
