Snow Birds....

this morning they came...
as soon as it was light....
they flew in silently...
at least,
for a while...
and then,
the crowd started to gather....
and they all had things to say.

They talked about the traffic...
the weather...
the kids...
the accomodations..
the relatives...
you name it,
it was spoken of...

and then they "broke bread"...
and scurried around the brunch buffet...
"Enjoy" said I....

Very popular in the 70's....

Remember Kahil Gibran?

He wrote The Prophet
which was particularly popular in the late 1970's.

He was a Lebanese-American
who had a rather interesting life.

This is one of my favorite quotes...

Wake at dawn with a winged heart
and give thanks for another day of loving
.- Kahlil Gibran

Doesn't that just paint the finest of all possible
scenarios for you?

Is that the way you would always like to awaken?

me too...

Fortunately,... I did this morning.
Re-freshed and well rested
(don't hate me)
because my annual Christmas party is
behind me now....

We had lots of fun..
we always do,
but as with most things
holiday, it required preparation
weeks in advance.

We are blessed though...
friends that truly appreciate us,
and the effort we put into
our holiday events.

I hope that your
holidays are worth every bit of effort
that you put into them.

and more.....

A day that worked....

Really well....

Barkley couldn't wait to
go outside....

He knew what that meant....
a tennis ball and bliss...

He is a focused subject...
so photographing him was not going to be
difficult.

He was more than willing to have his mom
brush his coat....
and what a coat it is....
just beautiful!

and he loves to RUN!

how could one resist focus like this?

he is intent on capturing the ball asap!

he even poses so that tennis ball would be thrown again...
I love that, too bad it doesn't work with people...

He is not a show off,
but knows how to put his best side toward the camera.

He is even willing to share the spotlight....
who says he is man's best friend?
I would argue that he is definitely a woman's best bud!

And
once tired....
he was willing to allow a bit of a
semi-natural pose for that silly lady with the
camera.

And finally....
the perfect shot!
I cannot tell you how excited I get
when I see images appear
as I download my camera's images.
And
when I saw this one....
well,
I just knew I had a little help with
this one.....isn't it perfect?
